Hey everyone!! I know I know I know, it has been quite a while since I have updated last!  Things have just been INSANE!!!!  To this blog will have several components to it for you all out there!  To start, be sure your following our vlogs, this is one of the things that has been taking up my time!  We call our selves the CP team and in the vlogs you live vicariously through the lives of current CPs!  The link for that is

Alright, so to start things off I moved apartment complexes.  As you all know I was in Vista Way.  My roommate Allison left the program so I got a new roommate in.  She was actually very nice, but as soon as Allison left I knew that I wanted to move in with Paige!  That way we would be able to hang out more and not worry about the crazy curfews that we have.  So now I live in building 5 at Chatham!  You can check out a tour of the apartment on our vlog!  I live right below Michael now so the CP Team is together!!  So now I am sure many of you are wondering how you move apartments!  Well first off one of Paige’s roommates moved out so we knew that there was an empty spot in the apartment!  I went to the front desk of Vista and filled out a request fourm.  I got a call the next day saying it was approved and that I have 3 days to move into the apartment.  I had to pay a $50 charge to change apartments, but it was well worth it!!!  It is really simple to do so!  Now I love my new apartment!

So one of the perks to being a cast member during late September is being able to attend the cast preview of the Boo to You parade!! ITS AMAZING!!!  Also we were able to purchase discounted tickets to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party!  The gang and I went on Sept 28th and enjoyed the various entertainments there!  We got to go trick or treating, listened to a quartet, watched the fireworks, the villains mix and mingle, and then the amazing parade!  Such a fun time!  We are hoping that they open up dates in October for cast discounts so we can go again!  I’m sure we will be going again any ways haha.

The Holidays are right around the corner and signs of them are already starting to show around Disney.  To start the lights are up on the castle.  No they are not lit yet, but it was interesting seeing the crane putting them up there.  We all sat there and decided that it was really really bad show to have the crane up during the middle of they day, but they I guess they gotta do what they gotta do!  Also when Josh and I went to see Fantasmic at Studios we saw that they alright are starting to get decorations up in their window displays!  CRAZY!  I cannot wait for the Holidays around Disney!  It is going to be AMAZING!

So yeah, that is the chaos that has been going on!  Not to mention I have been working 50+ hour weeks!  But right now I am on my way home to Colorado for the weekend!!  I am excited to see friends and family!  So I will leave all of you there!  Hope everyone is doing great that is already down there, and if you are coming for spring time get excited!!!!!  Have a magical day everyone!

Hey everyone!!! So I ended up getting transfered to Epcot west side attractions at Innoventions!!!  It has been so much fun so far!  So here is how all of this went down; last Monday I got a call from the Disney University people telling me I was to be at Epcot on Tuesday for orientation at 8:00 am.  Then I received another call from the manager at Innoventions that she would have a trainer meet me after orientation to show me around and explain what I would be doing.  So yeah, that was crazy fast!!

So I trained for 3 days last week on The Sum of All Thrills presented by Raytheon.  I forgot how boring some of the computer work and reading is haha!  But I learned about being a greeter, pre-show, design lab, grouper, and robo operator!  I love pretty much all the positions, but robo operator the most!  It's just so much fun being in control of this large piece of awesome technology!

For those of you that do not know what Sum of All Thrills is.....let me explain.  Sum of all Thrills is where you design and engineer your own thrill ride using math and science to determine the level of intensity that you use.  Ok so yeah I know that sounds scripted but it's the best way to explain what it is!  Pretty much you start off in a pre-show where they explain exactly what it is that your doing, then you go to your design lab where you work on a touch screen computer to build your ride.  You determine what move it does, how high it goes, and how fast.  But you have to be sure that you aren't going to fast or too slow and it shows all the math equations they are using on the screen....and trust me guys, they are all real! So Fantastic!!! Maybe that's just the nerd in me!  Then after that you go up to the platform and give your design card to a cast member.  They swipe their computer with it and it uploads your ride to the robo.  Then you get to ride it!!!!!!

As you can tell I absolutely love this ride!  I am so much happier where I am now and cannot wait to be trained at the other locations throughout Innoventions!  I will tell you about those later ;-)  But for now I am out!!!  Enjoy this video showing what The Sum of All Thrills presented by Raytheon is....

Medical accommodation

Hey everyone!  Hope everyone is doing great, and I am super excited about all the new people getting ready to come out here!! I cannot believe that it is almost August!  CRAZY!  Where did the summer go?  Oh yeah it all went to Disney!!! haha.  As you can tell I am still loving it down here!  My last post was all about my er trip and what to do when you get sick and yada yada yada, but now I have run into something else along the keeping healthy at Disney topic; Medical Accommodation!  What is this you may ask?  It is where you can request a medical restriction on your working.  Here is exactly what Disney has to say about it :

Please review the following when a College and International Programs Cast Member reports a medical restriction. A) The Cast Member reports a permanent medical condition that prevents him or her from performing the role: When a candidate arrives in the work location with a previously unreported medical restriction, the candidate and his/her physician must complete the Request for Medical Accommodation in Employment Form and submit it to Health Services. The form is available on The Hub in the Health Services module. B)The Cast Member suffers an occupational injury that cannot be accommodated in his/her current location or role: If the medical restrictions are due to an occupational injury, the work location must partner with the local Modified Duty Office for a temporary assignment. C) During his or her Program, the Cast Member reports medical restrictions which result in the Cast Member being unable to work: If the restriction is temporary and not the result of an occupational injury, resulting in an absence of greater than five (5) consecutive working days, the work areas can indicate the first five days as call-ins and then grant the Cast Member a maximum of five ADOs based on business need. If the Cast Member misses more than ten (10) consecutive workdays (based on a five-day, 40-hour workweek) not to exceed 14 consecutive days, he/she must be terminated and given a "restricted" rehire status. If the restriction is permanent and not the result of an occupational injury, the candidate and his/her physician must complete the Request for Medical Accommodation in Employment Form and submit it to Health Services. The form is available on The Hub in the Health Services module. *Participant must continue to be scheduled in his or her current location while his or her request for medical accommodation is being evaluated. For additional information, please see the Recasting Guidelines document on The Leadership module of the College, International and CareerStart Programs module on The Hub.

Whew that's a lot of words!!!  Anyways due to my allergies I have fallen under this category and have had to put in a request to be moved from outdoors, and foods.  Pretty much what I had to do is I went to health services and got a packet of paperwork to fill out.  My portion of it asked questions like what is the illness or injury, mine is allergies, when did it start, what does it limit etc.  Then it asks what accommodations they can make for it, and I said to not work out doors or with food because coughing, sneezing, not breathing in front of customers is just not good customer service.  So I asked to be moved to attractions where I would not have to deal with any of that.  So then I had to fax the other half of the packet to my doctor to fill out.

So  now all of the paper work is in, and the committee reviewed it and it got approved!!!!!  So I got a phone call today from the lady over seeing the whole thing and I am suppose to call her if I have any troubles with any of it, and now I am just waiting on the college program to give me a call so I can find out where I am moving to!  So yeah that is the excitement here!!!  I should be doing another post here soon on some of the stuff to do around here on your days off, that is when your not going to the parks and having the time of your life!  Anyways I think this is enough for today, I will update you on where I am moving to!!!  Have a magical day everyone!!!

Getting sick while on the College Program

Well it happened I got extremely ill.  Well more of what happened was an asthma attack that landed me in the ER.  I did not know I had it, but evidently I do haha.  Anyways what happened in on Friday when I was getting ready to head to work I started having a real hard time breathing and I thought it was actually an allergy attack cause that happens to me, only thing different is that I was not coughing uncontrollably, it was more my lungs.  So I rushed home to my inhaler and took a couple of puffs but that did not help at all. So I took a benadryl and it knocked me out for a while.  I managed to be able to call into work and say that I could not come in.

Well all night long I had troubles breathing and was not doing well at all, it was getting scary.  So that morning I called in again and went into the ER.  Turns out it was an astma attack, and it was close to turning into pneumonia...go thing I went in!!  So I have an inhaler for allergy attacks and for asthma attacks now - yup 2 diff ones.  And now I am also on a mad to take down the swelling in my lungs.  The doc also wanted me to take today off from work as well.  Yes 3 days...Scary thing to have to do!

But I did learn that you can call 3 days in a row sick and only receive one point for those days.  Sometimes you can do longer if you have a doc note.  I have one just in case that I need to take to health services so they have it.

I did call my managers to let them know what was going on.  They were very thankful for this!!  My best advice is just let your managers know what all is going on and get on their good side.  It was good for me to tell them so they did not think that I was just calling out to be a slacker, but I had no choice.  Paul was the one I talked to and I told him exactly what happened.  He was very understanding!!  This also covers me for if I have troubles while at work tomorrow they will be more willing to work with me to help me out in any way they can.

So yeah, that is my advice to everyone out there!! Keep in contact with your managers about things!!!!

Hope everyone is having a magical weekend!

Hey everyone!!!!!  So today I took a dive and wen't and auditioned for the part of Vidia - one of Tinker Bell's faries.  The audition was right after I got off of work so I hurried over there as fast as I could.  It was an interesting sight because I went running through the parking lot unbuttoning my shirt as I ran (don't worry I had a shirt on underneath!) jumped in my car threw off my pants (had shorts on underneath as well) and changed my shoes real quick!  Drove like crazy over to Animal Kingdom wardrobe where the auditions were.

When I got there we went in and got measured for height (I am 62.5")  Then I signed in and got a number. I found two of my friends there who were also trying out.  We sat around a while until they took in one group of people.  I wasn't in the first group, so we sat and kept talking.  Then they took our group in.

When we got into the room they lined us up in rows of 10.  There were 50 of us in all in our group.  We then were told to talk with each other and keep smiling and they wondered around looking at each person.  It was a very quick process.

I didn't make it, they only took like 2 of the 50 of us so yeah.  I'm pretty sure I'm not the right skin tone for her but oh well!! I"m planning on going to another audition!!  Should be fun!! But anyways I thought I would share that with you all!!  Hope everyone is doing well!!

Epic Day!

Finally for a few days off haha!!  Today was day 2 of my days off and it's back to work tomorrow night to work the 5k obstacle course....yay...I'd much rather be competing in it, but oh well I guess.  So why was today such an epic day?? Well I'll tell you of my journey.

I started off in sunny orlando Florida with my friend Paige.  We then went to the Dino institute where we were to go back in time to see the cretaceous period.  But then this guy wanted us to go back to the late cretaceous period to find an iguanadon, only prob was that it was about 90 sec until the meteor that killed almost all life was to hit.  So we went back in time in search of the iguanadon when we made a larger dinosaur angry and he chased us around.  We finally got home right before the meteor impact, and guess who we brought back with us?  Yes the iguanadon!!!!

So after this exciting and scary adventure Paige and I saw Mt. Everst off in the distance, so we decided that we would go climb to the top!!!  After walking through the streets of Asia, and looking at all the prayer cloths and seeing how many prayers had answered we had finally made it to the base of Everest where we got our gear on and started our climb...well ok so we took a train.  But as we were going along our train tracks were broken!!!!  So we went backwards down the mountain and loop de dooed around we were stopped yet again by the sacred yetti where he was tearing up more of our track!!! So we finally made it back down to base alive.

Exhausted after this journey we stopped at a local mart for a refreshing drink.  Then we continued walking and somehow ended up in Africa where everyone was saying Jambo to us and the drums were beating and the people were dancing.  We soon came across a safari ride!! So we went on our 2 week long safari ride and saw several animal until we learned that there were poachers in the reserve!! So we raced over to help the poor baby elephant and saved the day!!!!!

After we got back we wondered through the streets of Africa when we crossed over a bridge and suddenly felt very small as we entered through a hole in the great tree of life.  There we met several bugs until one showed up who was not happy to see us and was out for revenge!!! We got stung, and attacked by spiders until a lizard saved the day!!  After this we were exhausted and decided that we had done enough for one day and decided to go home!!!

Ok so can we tell I'm bored haha!! After this wonderful day at Animal Kingdom I met up with my aunt and uncle who I hadn't seen in ever and they're 2 boys and ate at the T-rex cafe in Downtown Disney which is a great place!! I highly suggest it!!  Anyways I"m out, hope you enjoyed my story haha :-p  have a magical day!

Earned My Ears!!!!

Well everyone, I have made it through training and have officially earned my ears!!!!  It was an exhausting process but so worth it and just sooooooo much fun!!! I love the people I work with and it's a fantastic job.  Note to everyone out there, this job is what you make it, have fun with it and it will be fun!!!!  I also got to go home early today which I needed so bad cause I'm on day 6 of my 9 day work streak, only 3 more to go then finally a day off!!!!!!!  Anyways I just wanted to stop by and share that news!!  I'm having the time of my life down here, and I've only been here 2 weeks, I'm excited to see how the rest of the time goes.  this is short cause I"m going to take a quick nap before heading to something at Hollywood studios, something about tower or terror or something, but have a good day everyone!!!

Thursday, June 3, 2010

Hey everyone just thought I'd stop by real quick to say a quick hello and let you know how training is going!!  It's going great!! Yesterday I worked at the coffee kiosk which was a lot of fun, but boring at the same time because there were about 8 of us stuffed into this little kiosk with one registar.  So one person worked registar while the rest of us stood in one place and just grabbed something like a coke or something like that.  Usually there are 2 people in one yeah but oh well it was still fun.  Today I get to work at the funnel cake place!! I hear it's really hot but I really wana learn how to make them and/or work the registar today!  I"m dying to get back on a registar cause I really enjoy the interaction with the guests and money haha.  I know I"m weird!!!!
This is my costume, I got better boots though haha
So anyways, tonight I'm going to go visit my lovely roommie at where she works in Magic Kingdom and we're going to watch the new Spectro Magic parade!!!!  It's a cast only viewing of it tonight!  I think a whole group of us are going so should be fun stuff!!!  Well I'm out of here to start day 3 of my 9 day work week!  I know sounds tough but honestly it hasn't been bad so far!! 6 more days to go after today!!!  Have a good day everyone!!!

Traditions and Training

Hey everyone!!! Hope everyone is having a great memorial day out there!!!  I thought I'd jump on and tell a little about traditions and training, but I"m not going to say to much because part of the magic is experiencing it not knowing what's going to happen next haha!  So I am working at Disney's Animal Kingdom or dak for short at outdoor foods!!!  I'm extremely excited about it all!!!

So for traditions there are two different groups who go that day, one in the morning and one in the evening.  I got the morning one so I had to be on the bus at 6:45 am - I know seems way early but it wasn't bad.  From there they drop you off at Disney University where you are split up into class rooms.  In these class rooms you watch presentations on the Disney standards and goals!!  You do various activities through out the day and get your card that lets you into the park and you name tags!  You are officially official after this haha.  Then you are able to go home and for the rest of the day and from here on out you are allowed into the parks!!!!!  So that's what we did!  My good friend and roommate Allison and I headed to Magic Kingdom to ride rides and be little kids - so much fun!!!!!!

I then had Thursday off and went to other parks and had a lot of fun with various people I have met through out the crazy week!  Then Friday I had on site training at DAK!!  We went in and sat in a room and went over all the things about DAK and their standards! We also got our schedule for the next week of the various places we would be working.  I'm personally working at about 5 different places throughout the week!  We then headed into DAK and took a tour of the whole park and then we got to ride the Safari Ride!  I still love it so much!   Then we came back, ate at the cafeteria there, and went to wardrobe to get our costumes!  Mine is a peanut colored safari uniform with hat and all.  It's fantastic!  I'll post pics soon enough I promise - maybe later today!

Well everyone I know I don't have pics for all of this but we weren't allowed to take pics for most of it so yeah.  But hope this gets everyone even more excited for the adventures that await them!!!  I'm off today as well so it's off to the cast member memorial day picnic at Mickey's Retreat and to Walmart to get my hiking boots for my costume!  Have a great day everyone!!!!!!

Check in to Disney College Program!

Oh my goodness guys it has been a while!!!  So sorry for that but I have been on vacation and checking into the wonderful Disney program these last two weeks and it has been AMAZING!  I'm still trying to sit here and process everything!  But I am going to tell you all about check in and kinda how that works so you get a good idea on it!!! Then prob in a latter blog I'll tell you more about Traditions and your first few days here.  That one will prob be tomorrow!  Anyways here we go!

Alrighty!  So the day begins by waking up early and heading over to Vista Way!  If you are staying in a hotel the night before I highly suggest Holiday Inn SunSpree because it isn't too badly priced and it is pretty much right across from Vista Way!  When should you get there?  Allison and I got over there about 7:30 that morning and check in begins at 9:00.  I know that's an hour and a half early but trust me it's worth it.  But another piece of advice is to not wait right by the bus transportation center but try to stay to the back of the group!  Cause when it's check in every one dashes for the back of the complex towards the club house where you start checking in!
After you get through this line you start going into a tented area where you will get a little sticker with your name written on it and then you go and keep waiting in line.  They then take you in about groups of 6 people over to a table where they explain a booklet that they have for everyone and you write your name on the back and all of that fun kind of stuff, plus you sign a few other documents.

After that you go into a nicely air conditioned room where you will need to be with your roommate that you want!!  They will send either one of you to the desk to decided on where to live and how many bed rooms you want.  The other person stands to the side and waits for their roommate.  (This is Allison going through all of that)  We got a two bedroom in Vista Way!! (Trust me Vista Way is awesome!  It's not as bad as people make it out to be!!!!)  After that you get your keys, and then they take your picture for your housing id!

After this process you go back out side into another line to get your car decal if you drove.  NOTE: if you want a decal for your car bring your licence, car registration, and copy of your insurance WITH YOUR NAME ON IT! Not your parents that doesn't work! Must have your name on it!!!  Please be sure to bring this stuff with you it makes it so much easier!! I forgot mine and had to go back later that day to the front desk and get it all figured out and it was just a big pain!!!

You then go to yet another table where they explain to you what is going to go on the rest of the day and show you a map of the property so you can know where to go to find your apartment.  They then let you loose to go find your apartment!!  Now I will bombard you with pics of the apartment! ENJOY!
The living room                                                                                               The Dinning room

The kitchenOur bathroom
Our Bed room, my bed is the one under the windows

Whew this was a long day!! Haha, and still not over!!!!  After you get into your apartment and claim your room you then head off on a bus to sign your life away to Disney!
Through this building you will give them all of your on board paper work that you should have filled out before arriving to Disney, you will fill out your I-9 form (be sure to have your pasport or social security card and id) get finger printed, make sure you fit the Disney look.  This process wasn't too long for me because I was on the first bus because I was so early in line!  So take notes!! GET THERE EARLY! Or you'll end up waiting forever!  After this long process you head back to your apartment where you then have time to unload your car or suit case or both and start to get settled in, but about 2-4 hrs later your back on another bus going towards The Commons for your house meeting!  Here they will give you the rundown of all the housing rules and you'll watch some pretty chesey videos, but hey if it's all for safety then that's just fine with me!!!

Well Everyone it has been a fun past few days and all I can really say is for everyone out there to just have fun with it all!!! Chat with people in lines and make friends like Mine!! Have a magical day!!

Last minute packing tips

Ok guys, I have officially finished packing!!!!! I"m spending my last few hours in Fort Collins on campus kinda studying for my last final haha. I'm so excited I can't even think straight!!!! I know it isn't real time when your reading this but I'm taking so long to write it because I can't get my thoughts straight haha!

So as I was finishing packing I had a few more tips to share with you all, nothing special just quick things. First: bringing hangers. Hangers are a pain in the butt!!! if anything I would suggest buying them when you get where you are going!! But if your like me and don't want to spend the money you can bring them with you. To help you out bringing them here's what you can do to help keep them together. When they are hanging in the closet take a zip tie or string and put around each corner (on the inside of the hangers) and tie them together. Then also take one and tie around the top of the triangle where the hook attaches. I hope this makes sense haha. But this helps a lot!! And do this with like 10-20 hangers at a time, don't try to do all of yours unless you have room!

If your like me you get all of your boxes in the car and still have a few things here and there left that you need to put in the car, but it's small stuff that you don't want to loose in the abyss of the car haha. So here's what you do, but the stuff in bags, like either grocery bags or the reusable bags and stuff on top of the boxes in your trunk! Works like a charm!!!

So that's everything!! I only ran into one problem while packing, my large space bag with bedding in it got a hole or something and isn't as compressed as it should but, but I"m not touching it because it's actually alright where it is! So yup that's it. I prob won't be posting again until I get down there! Hope everyone have a good time packing and getting down there and be safe!!!!

Not much going on

Hey everyone, sorry not much is going on so I haven't really posted anything!  I have 17 days until I leave for Florida 16 days until I move out of my house and 14 days until my last final!!!  Seems so close yet so far away haha!  I've started packing!!  I have one box done for Disney - it has all of my wall decorations in it.  While I was home this past weekend I found some old lithographs from when I was little.  I have a Lion King one, a Mulan one, and a Lion King 2 one.  So I'm bringing those with me!!!  Also pictures of my friends and family that are in picture frames!!

Also with all of my Disney prep my cousin made a ring tone for me!!! She did a clip from Be Our Guest from Beauty and the Beast!!!  I love this song and it's just so much fun to have as a ring tone!!  But with listening to it it really made me want to watch that movie!  I don't have it up here with me :-(  Maybe I'll have to run off with it when after this weekend at home haha!!!  That'll give me something to watch while studying for finals!!!

I got e-mails from Disney talking about the Disney look and the Education classes that are offered.  My only deal with the Disney look is I have highlighted hair and I do have darkish roots...but what I'm doing for fixing that is I got some hair lightening spray from Sally's Beauty Store, that you put in and then blow dry and it lightens up your hair.   So I'm using that on my roots.  I've only used it once so far, and it lightened them up quite a bit!!  So I"m hoping that I can just use this and be fine!!  I think it'll work haha!  I don't wana dye my hair to it's natural because I don't like it, and I don't want to keep highlighting it because of swimming and chlorine = green hair!! YUCK!!

On another note thought I'm thinking about taking one class through Disney, the marketing you one.  With this one you learn how to make a really good resume, get on the carrer path that you want, and I just think that it will be very very beneficial!!!  Even though I don't get credit for it I still want to take it!

Well I hope everyone out there is getting as excited as I am for Disney and I can't wait to meet everyone out there!!!!!  Have a very very Magical Day and I'm going to leave you with a pic from another one of my favorite Disney movies!!

Disney Look Makeup

So I've decided that I'll post to help you all out with the Disney look as far as makeup goes.  I use to work at a makeup store as a makeup consultant so I have a few ideas!!  The key thing for the disney look is natural.  So lets start!!

Foundation - if you wear it haha.  I wear foundation once in a while when I need to even out my complexion but honestly not that often.  I use a light foundation - Dream Matt Mouse by maybelline, and also a powder to set it.  If I need to really cover up something I use concealer.  Now thing thing with concealer that I learned is to put it on first, then your foundation!  Now powder is really good for setting your foundation and making it last longer!  Be sure you use a nice size soft brush for this!  And just lightly sweep it on!  Nothing too heavy!  You don't want to look like you have make up on haha.

Next is the blush and bronzer.  Yes I do use a bronzer because it helps give a sun kissed look!  But don't use it in place of blush!!  You need both!  Start with your blush.  Take a large soft brush, can be the same one you used for the powder and lightly sweet blush just on your cheek bones.  I would also say start mid eye and work your way out.  Dont get too close to the nose or else you end up with a smushed face look...not good!  Now the bronzer!  Take and rub the brush on the bronzer and tap out excess, put it over the same spot as the blush on both sides with the same stroke of the bronzer.  No going back for more!  Then take and buff the rest of your face with the brush to give it an all over sun kissed look!  Note: with the bronzer only choose a shade that is about one shade darker than your foundation, and not too orange.  You don't want to look fake!

Ok eye time.  Now for a natural look you want to choose browns or pinks, or a combo of both.  My first look that I'm going to tell you about is the browns.  I have a trio of browns that has one light color, a copper color, and a darker brown color.  First you take and sweep the lightest color up all the way to your eye brow.  Then take the copper color and sweep it over your eye lid.  Then take the darker color and lightly tap it into the crease of your eye lid and brow-bone and a litte up onto the brow-bone.  If you want to use eye liner use a brown and only use it on the rim of your eye lid - like under your eyelashes.  And then lightly on the bottom eye lash line.  And also only do it on the outside half of your eye.  I tried to get a pic, and it's a little bit darker than you would do...but its the only way this look would show up on camera.  Notice though how natural it does look.  Also finish it off with some mascara!

For using pinks I have a duo of a light pink and then more of a purply color...darker pink whatever you wana call it. For this one you take and sweep the light one on the brow bone, and the darker one on the lid.  Then I use black eyeliner for this which can be done and look still natural. You need to only do it on half of the eye and under the lashes again. And then on the bottom do it on top of the lashes (hope that makes sence) and finish off with mascara.  (notice again, once and light!)

Ok I hope these tips were somewhat helpful!!  Please just let me know if you have any makeup reallated questions!  ENJOY!

Hey everyone, so I did it, I jumped in a tried out for glee..... So go check me out and give me stars!!!! haha, thanks!

Just updating

Hey everyone, I honestly don't have a specific topic to post on today haha, but I really wanted to jump on and say hello to my newest followers!! I'm up to 10 and so excited!!  This blog will become more interesting as soon as I get to the college program and then I can do blogs on what is going on down there haha.  A lot of other blogs I've been reading are doing information on the different parks and stuff, which is great, but I can't do the same because it has been about 10 years since I have been to Disney World and 6 since I've been to Disney Land - and I was only there for one day.  So my Disney park knowledge is a little vage haha.

So in preparation for Florida I have been trying to build my tan - I do this by when I work out in the barn wearing tanning lotion haha.  It's helped a little, so we'll see if it actually helps me out when I'm down in Florida!  Also on top of that I'm working on slimming down - I'm doing a set work out so we'll see if it helps haha.  Speaking of slimming down and weight loss please check out my other blog  on this one I focus on low cal eating while in college, there's a lot of original recipes on there, but now it's focusing on eating out haha.  Speaking of which I should prob jump on that one and update there as well haha.

Anyways, I invite all of you to ask questions about anything with the whole process so far, just leave a comment and I will be happy to answer any questions - Really it can be anything, from tips on packing, to the disney look, to whatever!  Hopefully I can come up with something to blog about here soon!!

Have a magical day everyone!

Few more packing tips

Ok everyone!  I have a few more tips that I didn't put in yesterday.  These tips are actually kinda pre-packing tips haha.

So first things first - do some spring cleaning before moving or packing!!!!  It doesn't even need to be spring time to do this haha.  I'd start with your closet, go through and try on everything in it!! If you don't like the way it looks/fits, get rid of it right then and there.  No holding onto it hoping that maybe just maybe it'll look good someday.  If it doesn't look good now it won't look good later!  No excuses - no I'm bloated today, blah blah blah.  You want it to look good on your worse day anyways, because that means it look even better on your "good" day haha.  So just make a pile of the clothes to get rid of them and take them to goodwill or some place like it!  I just did this and got rid of about half my closet and I feel great!!!  I feel like I have a huge load off of my shoulders doing that haha.

So now lets move to the kitchen - please get rid of the junky pots and pans that need to have the crap scrubbed out of them just to make the bearable enough to cook in!!  Just get rid of them instead of moving them to your new place, trust me they aren't that expensive to replace! Ok now that you got rid of those, before packing the rest of your kitchen make sure everything is nice and clean - last thing you want to do is clean things when you get to your new place!!  Also don't move things that are cheap and can be easily replaced - such as plastic wrap, and all of those kinds of things.  Just start new at the new place- these things just take up way too much room in boxes!!  With food - the weeks before moving try your hardest to clean out your fridge and pantry and eat what's in them.  Don't move move with you - once again just stuff taking up too much room.  I do understand moving spices - these can get expensive to replace so these are ok, but not flour and sugar!

Are we seeing a trend yet??  As far as the rest of your house goes - if you don't use it get rid of it!!!!!!  Go through your junk drawer and get rid of the stuff in it!! Don't take old coupons with you, or sold pens and pencil, or loose odds and end papers that you haven't seen in forever haha.  Just don't take it with you!  Start out new and clean and organized!!!  Also before you back anything just dust it off!  Take a swiffer duster and wipe over it then put it into the box!  Once again you do not want to have to clean stuff when you get into your new place, I can't stress that enough!!    Um if you have plastic drawers with stuff in them be sure to tape them closed!!

Ok I think that's everything and I hope it's been helpful!!  I'll just leave you with this - if you don't use it now or haven't seen it in years, don't move it with you!!!!!! Start out fresh and new!

Packing Time!

Seeing that 4 weeks from tomorrow I will be on my way to beautiful Florida, I should really prob start packing!!  Now i've moved 3 times within the past year, and 9 times in the past 5 years, so we can say that I kinda have this whole moving thing down haha!  The hardest part about this move this time is the different things I need to pack for.  I need to pack up all of my stuff for Disney, then the rest of the stuff that needs to go my parents basement, and then I need to focus on a suit case for my vacation in Florida.  So yeah haha.  And with the Disney stuff I need to be able to fit it into my Ford's a smaller car but not too small.  The back seats fold down and open up into the trunk so that's really nice!

Me and my baby when I first got it 5 years ago...oh it's so old now!! Haha, but still in great condition!

Anyways.....So if you car has an option to do that absolutely do it it will make your life a lot easier!!  Also some people don't think of this, but make sure your car is cleaned out!!  That includes vaccuming and really getting rid of the dirt on the inside of you car!  Why may you ask is this important?  So the things  your moving don't get dirty or scratched!  Here in Colorado winters = a lot of gravel, and a lot of it ends up in the car from your feet.  If you have a tv or computer screen in there and it rubs up against that  you can end up with some major scratches on them and that wouldn't be fun.  And who wants to dust first thing when they move in??? Yeah no fun!!

Ok So I'm going to start with your bedding and clothing items.  My biggest suggestion?? Space Bags!  Trust me these things do work as they are promised to work!!  I'm going to be doing all of my bedding, pillows, and clothing items in these (besides the one in the suit case for the trip)   What about wrinkles?  Yeah they do wrinkle some, but you can just run them through a rinse cycle real quick and dry them, or you can even iron them afterwards, but they save so much space in your car.  So here's what you do, at least get the bedding done before you get anything else done with your packing.  That way you can lay that flat down in the bottom of your trunk and pile everything else on top.  I prob won't even start packing my car until I can have the one with my clothes put in there honestly!  They are heavy and don't really bend, so they do need to sit flat, that's why I'm suggesting putting them down first in the car!

Ok now what about the small items that need to go in boxes?  You would think that just putting things into boxes is really no big deal, but I'll give you some simple tips to make your life easier!  A lot of people just think that larger boxes = better because you can fit more into them and you have less of them..... PLEASE do not do this!! Use smaller boxes!  This goes for wether your moving just in your car, or filling a u-hall, TRUST ME!  If they are smaller you don't make them as heavy, and can carry them a lot easier and save a lot of back ach!  Also if your moving with just your car, such as I am to Disney, they fit easier into your car.
Ok now that we have the size thing down another tip is to pack your boxes according to different rooms.  Put all of your bed room stuff into bed room designated boxes, and your bathroom is stuff in designated bathroom boxes etc.  This makes it easier for when you start unpacking!  And be sure to label the box.  That way when your unpacking you know what's in the box before you ever open it!  This will keep you from going insane over trying to find one certain thing when you move in and don't have a chance to unpack right away!  I've done this before and it's not fun at all!!  If you have pets, have a certain box that you put all of their stuff into and know where it is, that way it's one fo the first ones you can get unpacked.  This keeps them settled down and calm while you can move in everything else!

During Moving your other best friend besides boxes is going to be news paper! Not for reading or looking for help with moving, but for protecting your breakable items! Wrap anything that you don't want to break in News Paper!  This goes for picture frames, nick nacks, glasses, dishes, etc.  ANYTHING!  Also in between these items pack some news paper down between them to keep them from moving during the move.  You can buy like bubble wrap if you want...but I think that news paper works just as well honestly!  I get all of my news paper from my campus cause we can get our College Newspaper for free and I just grab a stack once in a while, so then I have enough for the time I need to pack!  On a side note it was fun during one of my moves packing with news paper.  Actually it wasn't the packing it was the unpacking haha.  I moved over to South Carolina from CO and our stuff was in storage for a while, so when I was unpacking it was several months later and in another state and I went through and read some of the things in the paper, and it was just fun to see what when on a couple of months ago, I know I sound like a dork right now!

Ok, now here's a big thing, if it's a large bulky item, do not put it in a box!  You don't want a box for one thing haha, what's the point??  If you have items such as a fan, or nice size desk lamp, don't worry about putting it in a box.  These things are always good out of a box because they always seem to be the one thing that will fit in a certain place when your packing up the car.  I don't know how to explain it really, except think of it as tetris!  Also the Tv, do not put it in a box, but be sure you are protecting that screen! Not only from dirt and gravel in the car, but take a put a towel or something over top of it and tape it around the tv - DO NOT attach any tape to the actual tv though, trust me once again, you will be sorry!  Also with the tv, tape the remote to the towel that your covering the tv with, that way you know where it is!

One last tip that I have for everyone out there is items that you need to be able to get to pretty quick after you move, such as shampoo, conditioner, bath wash, medications, etc.  Put into a separate bag that goes on top of everything and make it so that you can get to it easily!  I've made this mistake before and it's not a fun one to do!

I think I'm out for now, hope these tips help you all out there!  If I come up with more tips I'll just do another blog with some more haha.  Um lets see, 28 days until I'm on the road for Fl!  And then like 8 days later I'm checking into Disney!  I can't wait and am getting so excited for it all!!!  Wooo!!!! Peace out everyone and take care!

Phew!! That's a lot of things!!  During check in all cast members need to meet the requirements for business attire.  I'm pretty sure that we can check in and get that all done, then change to move in all of our things, but I guess we will see haha.  I had to go shopping for some new clothing items for more "business" appropriate wear, but the guidelines actually are a lot like Big 5 Sporting goods are haha.  So that works for me!!  To add to my list of things to bring to disney I'm putting down my iron as well haha.   Well everyone have a magic day and be sure to check out my other blog cause I updated it as well today.

So I've been doing some investigating on the whole housing/living situation down in Orlando for the the college program!  Some of this info comes from the disney college program website it's self, and some from other blogs out there!  I'll be sure to give credit where credit is due! I promise!!

Different places to live

First off there are wellness apartments and non-wellness apartments.  Wellness are dry apartments intended for participants under 21 years old.  However if you are over 21 you can choose to be in a wellness apartment.  Non-wellness apartments are designed for those over 21 years old.

Ok the different apartment complexes are: Vista Way, Chatham Square, Patterson Court, and The Commons (which houses mainly international Cast Members).  (Thank you wikapedia!)  Ok so I'll break down each apartment complex on the information that I have found!

Vista Way
Vista Way is the older of the apartment complexes.  3-6 people live together in these apartments depending on how many rooms there are.  Vista way is more known to be the "party" complex.  People who live in this complex tend to be a little more social and have big groups of friends, and seems like there's never a dull moment.  There are laundry facilities in each building and 2 pools on site.  Vista apartments are also the smallest of the options.

Chatham Square
Chatham is known to be the more "quite" of the apartment complexes on site.  It's a newer one, built in 2000 and the apartment sizes are larger.  There can be 2-8 people who live in each apartment in this complex.  some rooms also have balconies.  Laundry rooms are scattered through out the buildings, so no garuntee that there will be one in your building.  There is one pool one site.

Patterson Court
Patterson is the newest of the apartment complexes, built in 2008  The biggest complaint with these apartments is that there is no bus stop. You have to walk over to Chatham to catch the bus if you want to take it.  I can't find much on Patterson besides the fact that it's the nicest since it's the newest, and because of this it tends to be the most expensive.... If you have any other info please leave a comment and let me know!!!

The Commons
The commons aren't generally recognized as a main apartment complex because they are for the international students working at Epcot.  Therefore I cannot find anything on them haha...sorry no pic for them!

So costs of the different apartments range anywhere from $82-$108 per person per week.  The amount is automatically deducted from your pay check each week so you do not need to worry about remembering to pay it each week.  The costs include everything!!
